As you read this week’s Torah portion I want you to think about all the ways in which the Black community has been systematically controlled-slavery, Jim Crow, The New Jim Crow (Mass Incarceration), medical experiments, colonialism, food deserts in our communities, the list goes on and on. Those who oppress us are shrewd and this is why Yahshua said in Matthew 10:16 “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves: Be you therefore wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” If you continue to read this Torah Portion in chapter 1: 16-22 you see the resistance of the midwives who refused to kill the Hebrew boys and because of this Yah gave them families. In what ways are you wise enough to resist? Let me know how this passage speaks to you and remember our enemies are very shrewd but Yah is wiser, Yah is stronger and Yah will always preserve his own.
